Happy First Birthday!!!

This week has us reminiscing about this time last year. My due date was November 13th. I talked my Doctor into inducing me on the 12th because my parents were leaving on the 17th to enjoy a week long cruise to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

We arrived at the hospital on Monday the 12th to be induced. Within a couple of hours I was all hooked up and ready to go. Due to my many allergies the doctor was taking it slow so they could catch any possible reactions to the different medications they were using. Around Lunch they broke my water and the contractions really began to come. Soon after, I received my epidural and began waited. Every couple of hours the doctor came to check me. I was not changing much so I feared a LONG night of labor was ahead. Around Dinner he checked me again and no change in 2 hours. He could tell that Miller was not going to fit. He gave me the option to labor for a couple more hours and if I had not progressed any he would prep me for a C-section or I could choose to go ahead with it. I was tired and ready for it to be over with so I opted for a c-section.

Miller arrived within an hour of that decision, and on Monday, November 12, 2007, our lives have been forever enhanced and made brighter by this precious gift God gave us. We are so thankful for a healthy, happy boy who is growing bigger and bigger by the minute!

Miller had changed so much over the last month. He is walking. He still has a way to go to be fully walking but he is walking more and more every day. It happened over night. He really started walking on Friday. Miller really showed off on Saturday at his party. It was like he knew the party was all about him so he really put it all out there. Along with walking has come more talking. He can say "Oh ooh", Mama, Dada, and Hi. We can say some words and Miller will try to repeat them. I have a feeling that within a couple of weeks he will be running and then he will start talking in sentences.

Miller is a great eater and a pretty good sleeper. He is working on tooth number 12 so he is still waking some at night due to the discomfort.

He loves to play. He is not very demanding. I can sit him down with some toys and he gets lost in his own little play time. Of course he loves for me to play with him but he is very content playing by himself.

I started working on a video to capture Miller's first year. I wanted to post it on his birthday but I have been very busy and have not completed it. As soon as I do I will post it. Miller is such a joy and we look forward to the many milestones to come.

Happy Birthday Miller! You are a sweet boy! Cole can't wait until you all are old enough to play together.

And - Jessalee - I know just what you mean by things happening overnight. One day Cole will struggle with something and the next day, he's a pro. It's really amazing, isn't it? I love your post and your story. :)
