First AHS Game and A Big Boy Chair

We began this past weekend by taking Miller to his first Athens High School Football Game. We had to leave at half time to get him home and in bed but he did beautifully while we were at the stadium. All the cheer leaders loved seeing him dressed in his golden eagle attire. Unfortunately I have not gotten copies of the pictures from my dad. We will be going to all the home games and pep-rallies to support the head cheer leader... Aunt Maybay.

This is a picture of Miller with Aunt Maybay last year before a game.

Saturday we went shopping and Miller got a early birthday present form Mimi and Granpa Don...A BIG BOY CAR SEAT. He has outgrown his carrier so we figured it was time to up grade.

THANKS MIMI AND GRANPA DON!!! I love my new seat and I love getting to look out the windows. You know I don't like to miss anything!!

Langford Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family tree - Genealogy - Celeb - Collage - Morph

I decided to try this with our family. I find the results funny because EVERYONE says Miller looks so much like Luke. What do you think??

Naptime first

This morning I put Miller down for his morning nap. He was very quite at first and then started to cry. He usually goes right to sleep without a whimper so my first thought was I will let him cry it out (I think it is very important to stick to a sleep schedule...Nap time is Nap time!!) After he cried for about 15 minutes I thought I would check on him. This is not a normal practice but he has not cried during nap time in quite a while. When I peeped in on him he was STANDING in his crib. He has never pulled himself up from the laying down position so I could not help but swoop him up and love on him. I gave him a bottle because he did not nurse very well this morning. He drank all 6 ounces. I guess he was just hungry and this was his way of getting my attention. I think we will be lowering the crib this afternoon.

Weekend Cookout

This weekend we had our Sunday School Class over for a cookout. We enjoyed some great food... Thanks everyone for pitching in!! We also enjoyed a game called corn hole. It's kind of like horse shoes but played with Bing bags. I guess it is one of those games you just have to see to understand. We had a great time of fellowship and we look forward to the next time we all get together.

Optical Illusion

It was all an optical illusion...

We just got home from Miller's first Eye Appointment. Miller did great and cooperated beautifully. Dr. Sandlin said everything was fine. Miller has a large nose bridge causing his eyes to appear turned in or slow to react. We will see Dr. Sandlin again in a year just as a precausion. He was certain that Miller will grow into his large nose bridge and it should not cause any eye sight problems for the future.

9 Month Stats

We just got home from Miller's Nine Month check up. He weighs 21 lbs 2 ounces and is 28.25 inches long. He falls right into the 50th percentile for both height and weight. His head measures into the 90th percentile. We like to think that his large head is due to the fact that he is VERY smart. More room for brains right?!?!

On another note Dr. Maples was concerned about Miller's right eye. Miller's right eye does not have the range of motion like his left eye. There could be a number of things causing this and she has referred us to see a Optometrist. Until we know more we can pray that the severity of this problem is minimal. We will keep you posted on his diagnosis.

Other then his eye, Dr. Maples thought he looked great. To say he was active while she was looking him over would be a understatement. She really had a hard time looking at his eye to confirm that it was not focusing properly. He did great and I think we were all glad that he did not have to have shots today.

Miller is Nine Month's Old

This month has been full of changes. We began the month by introducing some dairy products. He is now eating cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and yogurt. We also introduced chicken and turkey. Miller also weaned himself. This has been hard on me, but he still lets me nurse him first thing in the morning and I give him bottles the rest of the day. He takes the bottle OK...but I never know how much he will eat. Some days he only gets a couple of ounces and others he will drink 8-10 ounces. He eats really good from the spoon so this helps me feel like he is getting all the nutrition he needs. He gets one Yo Baby yogurt first thing after I nurse him. Then, around Lunch after a bottle he gets a serving of ground chicken or turkey mixed with cream cheese and cheddar cheese along with a serving of fruit. Late afternoon he will get another bottle and around dinner time he gets another serving of chicken and a veggie. We try to limit the snacking but he will eat some Cheerios and Ritz crackers with juice in between meals.

Last night I made a wonderful chicken pot pie and decided to let Miller try to feed himself while I ate. I chopped the filling up very small and he actually fed himself pretty well. After I ate I pureed some with my Magic Bullet (It is great for making homemade baby food) and fed him so I would know he got enough. He loved it. I plan to start feeding him more and more table foods. It sure is easier to only prepare one meal.

Miller has FOUR teeth. He is very proud of them and loves to chew on EVERYTHING!!

Miller is STILL not crawling. His "crawl" is more like a military manovier and he is getting quicker every day. He just might be one of those babies who skips crawling and goes straight to walking. He is really getting good at pulling himself up and standing with no assistance. He LOVES to stand!! He getts really gitty when he is standing and can even walk a little while holding onto something.

It is bitter sweet to move from one fase of babyhood to the next but I am enjoying each fase better then the last. He is SO alert and dosen't want to miss anything.

Our paster has started a sermon series on Parenthood. This past Sunday he could not stress enough the fact that our children are on Loan from God and we should raise them up as so. Luke and I feel so blessed that the LORD has Loaned us such a precious son and we are striving to raise him as such.

What's New?

Miller is starting to pull himself up. He can only do it from a sitting position. We will definatly be lowering the crib really soon. He gets SO excited when he pulls himself up. I could just eat him up.

Miller is getting better at crawling everyday. His crawling is less like plowing and more like a military motion. It will not be long and he will be all over the place. Sorry for the "jumpy" video. I was home alone.

Play time with Miller

Miller loves to play. He really enjoys sitting and "crawling" around. I say "crawling" because it is more like plowing. Enjoy!!

He will play ANYWHERE....Even under his ExcerSaucer!!

WAR EAGLE!!

Did you notice that I have had ANOTHER hair cut??
