January in Alabama...

It was such a pretty day yesterday that Miller and I spent some time in the back yard. Can you believe my buttercups are beginning to poke through the ground?

This has been the first time that I have let Miller roam around the back yard. He really LOVED exploring. He and Kaylee fought over sticks.

He has a little temper... I wonder who he gets it from?!?!?!

He WON!!
Cheese!!!

After such a BEAUTIFUL and MILD day can you believe this is what I found today?? Yes that is SNOW!! Not a lot and it has not accumulated anywhere else.

Only January in Alabama!!

Tagg I'm it...

I have been tagged to tell you 10 honest things about myself.
(Sorry it took me so long Allyson.)

1. I am VERY OCD about how a bed should be made. After we got married Luke quickly learned to stay out of the way when I was making a bed. The crazy thing is I rarely completely make our bed. Don't hear me wrong the sheets and blankets are straighten and folded just right everyday, but I don't pull the duvet out of the closet and arrange the 8 extra pillows on the bed. Only if we have company coming do I do this extra step.

2. I LOVE couponing. There is something rewarding about hunting for the best deals. If you have not done so you can check out my money saving blog here.

3. Which leads me to my next confession. I am a Shopaholic!! I absolutely love to shop. I don't care what I am shopping for...Groceries, clothing, furniture... I love it all. This might sound contradicting but couponing gives me an excuse to get my shopping fix. It is crazy how much more I buy every month couponing then I did before I started this quest and I am spending over half of what I once did.

4. I love to play in a fire. I would not consider myself a pyromaniac, I just love to play in a fire. I can make and maintain a fire if I have all the right supplies. I can haul and split wood but I would rather not. Luckily my wonderful husband keeps the house stocked with all the necessary supplies for me to start and maintain a warm fire on cold days.

5. I love to move. We have moved 4 times since we got married...we will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary on Feb. 14th :). It is a great opportunity to clean out, reorganize, and redecorate all of which I LOVE to do.

6. I love to Organize, anything and everything. I get extremely overwhelmed by un-organization. Sometimes I over do it but it is just who I am.

7. I am a BIG planner. I plan my days, shopping list, parties, and just about anything. I love to daydream about what I am going to do, what I should do, or how a situation can/should unfold. I would love to be a party planner but don't want to deal with a client.

8. I love photography. Luke gave me a professional camera for Miller's birthday... a kind of thank your for being a wonderful Mom. I have not had the time to fully learn all it can do but look forward to taking classes. My first class is in about 2 weeks. Hopefully I will have some great pictures to post.

9. Luke is the only guy I have ever dated. I love that I was able to marry him without any baggage. I was able to give him my whole heart.

10. I am not a beach person. I love the smell of the ocean but after a day or so I have had enough. I would choose a trip to the mountains over the beach any day. Especially when snow is involved. My dream vacation would be an Alaskan Cruise. Luke and I hope to get the opportunity to go one day.

I am tagging Erin Downs, Hillary Trawick, Brittany VonKanel, and Bonnie McKinney. I can't wait to read 10 facts about each of you!!

Just Pictures...

Well maybe a little background first. Luke is building a bookcase for a friend. Tonight since Miller and I have a minor stomach bug we did not go out to eat to celebrate Luke's birthday, instead we helped him sand the bookcase. It only has one coat of primer so it was really rough and needed all our help, even Miller's. We had it laid on it's back on a work table. We put Miller inside to get all the hard to reach spots. He LOVED it!!!

Happy Birthday Luke!!!

Today is a very special day for our family. We have been given the pleasure to celebrate another year with the BEST father, husband, and friend EVER. We LOVE you Luke!! Thanks for all you do for Miller and I. We truly miss you when you are at work. Miller says DaDa all day long and goes to the garage looking for you. I know he misses you and it is a joy to see him light up once you walk through the door. We love you and look forward to MANY more years to come!!

14 Months

Another Month has flown by and Miller is ever changing. This month he has really begun to run. He has also learned to stand up without pulling up on something. He really can get around good these days.

We celebrated Miller's Second Christmas this month. He did not know what was going on and did not get into opening gifts until the last Christmas celebration. Thanks again to everyone who helped make our Christmas so special. Miller loves all his new toys.

Miller has been sick off and on this month. Just the crud and medication seems to clear it up but as soon as the medication runs out the crud flares up again. At the moment he is feeling pretty good but is still very crusty when he wakes up.

Miller still has 12 teeth but the way he is drooling you would think he had another tooth coming in. We keep looking but find nothing. With all these teeth he eats just about everything. He is still very independent and likes to feed himself. Some favorites are veggies, fruit cups, Yogurt, Oatmeal, Cheese, and Chicken pot pie. We have not found anything that he doesn't like.

He loves to play and we find it cute when he brings us odd objects such as a shoe or house slipper or a spoon. He also LOVES music and will dance/ bounce to the beat. This is one I need to get on video.

Here are some fun pictures to wrap up this month...

I still love my bath!!

Nakky time!!

He loves to play with Kaylee's Kong. Kind of gross and unsanitary, I know!!

Helping Daddy!!

Chocolate!! YUMMY!!

Saving Momma...

One of my goals for 2009 is to be a better steward of our finances. God has blessed Luke and I with the ability for me to be a Stay at home mom to our precious son. I do not feel that I am a careless spender but could be a smarter spender. I have started a new blog for my own personal use but hope that somewhere down the road it can help others make the same smart money saving decisions as I do. Another goal for this site is to keep a list of helpful sites to use regularly as reference as I achieve my money saving goals.

If you want to join me saving in 2009 check out my new site.

Happy Savings!!

Christmas recap

Despite being sick most of the month of December we had a great time with Family celebrating Christ birth. Our celebration began on Tuesday night. Luke's parents and grandmother came into town. My family also came over and we enjoyed a joined family dinner. After a visit to the Urgent care (This will explain why I look a little rough in all these pictrues), We enjoyed a candle light service at church and on to my parents for dinner and presents. Miller had a great time helping everyone open gifts. He did not really get the hang of it until we opened gifts from Santa on Christmas Morning.

We would like to say Thank you to everyone who made our Christmas SO special.
